“Marvel’s Black Panther was an incredible movie that brought a community together. When I was asked to be part of a wedding editorial inspired by the movie, I was so excited! I designed the stationery, including the invitation suite, day-of stationery, runway/floor decal, the chair decals, and a backdrop (which ended up not being printed). The pattern in my designs was inspired by a textile a character was wearing in the movie.

While all the event professionals on the team worked independently, you can see that when people are excellent at what they do, things come together perfectly – for example, Sandra of Fruitilicious Cakes and I used the same black and purple geometric pattern in our designs, without discussing it beforehand. I’ve found that often happens on shoots, especially with vendors I’ve worked with frequently.”
